Billy H. Smith

Billy Harris Smith was born On October 9th, 1959 in Durham NC to the late Hubert Eugene Johnson Smith and Rosa Lee Williams-Smith.  He is also preceded in death by two older brothers, Mr. Alexander Williams (Sonny)  and Allen Eugene Williams.

Billy received his education from Durham Public Schools. He attended Piney Grove Church, Hillsborough NC as a youth and young adult. He earned a CNA certificate as well as being employed within the restaurant industry serving as a master cook for many years. He worked at Select Seafood for many years and the community loved his cooking.

Billy was a father, a brother, son, uncle, cousin and friend and was known for his tremendous strength and was considered a great athlete as a youth. He was fun loving and had a witty personality that people around him enjoyed.  

Billy leaves to cherish his memories, his son ( Shawn Montgomery) 4 grandchildren, his brothers Larry Williams, Hubert Sean Smith Jr, Shawn Smith Asor-Sallaah, six sisters: Regina Williams-Royster, Robbin Patricia Smith, Relva Anita Smith, Jennifer Dixon, Eugenia Smith and Lakeshia Smith, along with a host of nieces, nephews, families and friends. He is survived by his aunts Earnestine Williams-Bradley, Janice Johnson-Carrington and Andrea Johnson-Bowling and Linda Jean Johnson all of Durham.

The Services honoring Mr. Smith’s journey, will be announced once arranged by his loving family.
