Twanda Shante Parker

Twanda Shante’ Parker born September 6,1999 to Pamela J. Parker and Michael Weed in Durham NC. Twanda departed this life into eternal rest November 5, 2023.

Twanda was educated in the Durham Public School System and received her High School Diploma. She was formerly employed at Duke Medical Center

Twanda, affectionately known as “Lil Mama” was the brightlight that came into this world with big beautiful eyes that stole your heart instantly. She was beautiful inside and out and she was confident in it. When she entered a room you knew she was there with her big smile and “hey everybody”. She cared about her appearance, everything had to be in place, she could wear a pair of heels when necessary but Jordans were her favorite. She was the dance queen and  “party” was her middle name. When she had her son he was the joy of her heart he made her smile and cry at the same time. She had a love for caring for the wounded and those less loved. If she had anything you could get it if you needed. She had a love for music, Old Skool, R&B, Hip Hop and Southern Soul. She was very photogenic and would photobomb your picture just because you didn’t include her in it and say “don’t leave me out”. She had a special love for hundreds of her brothers and sisters, her boy and girl cousins were actually her brothers and sisters and even though she was younger she didn’t want to be left so their bonds grew tighter than cousins could ever hold.  

She is preceded in death by her grandparents David and Nettie Parker, her guardian Sandra P Brooks, 3 aunts Bettie Parker, Marsha Cole, Brenda Taylor, 2 Uncles Jeffrey Parker and Rickey Parker, 1 cousin Bryant Pettiford. 

She leaves to cherish her memories her son Zyier Kamarion Burnett , her mother and step father Pamela J Parker and Marshall Allen of the Home, Her father Michael Weed, her guardian father Donald C Brooks of Hillsborough NC, 2 brothers Ladarren Parker and Timothy Gurley Jr. of Durham NC,  1 God sister Neveah Gamble ,1 niece Deeniya Parker, 2 nephews Timothy Gurley III and Ace Gurley her Godmother Deborah Thorpe of Durham NC. Several God nieces and nephews. 5 aunts Phyllis Pettiford(Mike), Mary Parker, Connie Parker, Jacqueline Parker, and Andrea Parker all of Durham NC, 2 uncles David Parker(Syl) of Rougemont NC and Clint Parker(WillieMae) of Durham NC, 2 great aunts Polly Bass of Durham NC and Louise Beasley of Rougemont NC, 1 great uncle William Bass of Rougemont NC.
